REFLECTIONS
The Reflections Collection involves subjects that can appear differently when reflected, usually changing the mood or feeling that can be evoked by an image.
These pictures were taken over four seasons and are single exposures highlighting a reflective surface in the foreground which causes the images to appear upside down.
In this artistic process I don’t find any need to combine images or use multiple exposures so all I normally do is to flip the photograph by 180 degrees to put it right-side up resulting sometimes in a somewhat otherworldly viewpoint. Cropping out all or most of the non-reflective image is all that’s necessary.
A completely still surface will yield one type of effect. Any ripples or things that float on the surface will add unusual patterns and a sense of motion. The colors will mix and subjects will blur producing some very exciting images. The variety and beauty of the results is what has always interested me. I hope you like what I have created!
